Agriculture Shares (CSA)
2017 Shares are open for reservation. Read below for details and application.
Support local agriculture and enjoy fresh produce all season long
CSA shares are a great way to enjoy a steady supply of delicious, seasonal local food, and not only support local agriculture, but even get to know the people who produce your food. With each share you get a weekly variety of delicious vegetables and seasonal fruits, and best of all, you know you are getting just the produce- no chemicals or additives. We use no pesticides, hormones, chemical growth enhancers, and absolutely no genetically modified crops.
CSA advantages for consumers:
- Eat ultra-fresh, naturally grown food with all the flavor and vitamin benefits of heirloom varieties.
- No chemicals in or on your food.
- Get exposed to new vegetables and new ways of cooking.
- Get to visit the farm where your food is produced.
- You'll often find that kids are more open and receptive of food from "their" farm – even veggies they've never been known to eat.
- Develop a relationship with the farmer who grows your food and learn more about how food is grown.
- Your food dollars stay in the local economy, and do not contribute to fuel and packaging consumption to bring foods from across the country and even continents that are grown right in our region.
The produce that goes into each weekly 1/2 bushel share box depends on peak ripeness, which may vary slightly from year to year. You will receive a variety of produce by season, such as: Beets, Broccoli, Carrots, Lettuce, Kale, Sweet & Hot Peppers, Cabbage, Parsnips, Tomatoes, Zucchini, Cucumbers, Ground Cherries, Beans, Summer & Winter Squash, Turnips, Pumpkins, Grapes, Watermelon, Peas, Muskmelon, Chard, Okra, Collards, Radishes, Spinach, Eggplant, Fennel, Basil, and more.
Your weekly box is picked up on-site on Saturdays or Sundays.
Summer Share 12 weeks, June-August - $550
Fall Share 12 weeks, Sept-Nov - $550

Full Co-op Membership
CSA subscriptions are a great way to shorten your food chain and get closer to the source of your food, but we are offering a new option to bring the consumer and producer in an even closer partnership. Our co-op program increases both the consumer's access to natural products and knowledge of where and how their food and daily necessities are produced. It also allows us to be more responsive to our members' needs and to expand the variety of products, and especially important to us, to spend more time growing and producing quality natural products for those who want it most, rather than doing volume sales at markets that push even natural producers to more commercialization.
Our co-op is a little different than what the term may mean to most- farmers marketing their products together. Our program hybrids the traditional co-op and the CSA, with the emphasis on the consumer. What we offer is a full membership in the production output of our farm. As a co-op member, you buy a share of our annual production, part of which is a CSA subscription, and the remainder of which entitles you to that dollar value worth of our on-farm products within a one-year period. Everything we make or grow: additional vegetables and fruits, meat and poultry, soap, body care, herbal products, wood crafts & decor, hay & feed (if you have animals of your own), etc. This also includes access to products we are not offering to the general public, such as the rarer heirloom grains we grow and rough cut lumber. Our on-farm co-op store is open year round, and you as a member can redeem your share balance on any product or in-season food available. (This includes winter produce, which is not a part of your CSA season). We also offer lots of members only special sales, discounts, and products only available to members, and private farm to table meals.
Co-op share buy-in levels:
$1000 Share with Summer CSA: You get the summer season CSA ($100 off CSA-only price), and $550 share of gross product good for 1 year.
$2000 Share with Summer/Fall CSA: You get both CSA seasons (with $200 savings!) and $1100 share of gross product good for 1 year.
Payment options: You may (1) pay in full upon joining, or you may (2) reserve your membership with 50% down and the remainder due by May 15, 2015, or you may (3) reserve with a $250 downpayment and make equal monthly payments of the remainder.
If you have any questions before deciding to join, feel free to email or call, but we highly encourage that you schedule an individual visit. The intent of the co-op program is to shorten the food chain, make it a visible entity, and cement a real bond between consumer and farmer. What better way than to come see us prior to the main growing season and ask your questions?
To join us as a co-op member, print and fill out the co-op agreement and send it to us with your deposit.
